Barry Ferrier aka ‘Dr. Baz’ contributes a distinctive deep soulful voice and is a skilled multi-instrumentalist - an excellent guitarist, he is also a very polished pianoman, but plays piano accordian and flute too. An award winning song-writer, he has collected 6 North Coast Entertainment Industry “Dolphin” awards, including twice as Best Blues Artist, and Best Jazz Artist 2007. Amog his many credits he has worked as a vocalist in Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and several other major stage productions. He played bass for chart topping 80s pop group the Ferrets, has opened for Ry Cooder at the Palais in Melbourne, and was band leader for legendary black superstar Eartha Kitt on her 1996 Australian tour. |

Tom Cuyler - lead guitar A Canadian born electric guitar maestro, who still tours regularly with Otttawa based Breakwater Blues Band, Tom has been a familiar force on the Byron Bay music scene for many years. A musician’s musician with a disarming humility, his soaring lead guitar and tasty rhythm licks have been the back-bone of a vast array of Byron Bay lineups. Tom sings with a gruff and gritty authentic blues shout and is always the consummate tasteful soloist. |

Martin Mueller - Bass guitarist Martin brings energy, infectious enthusiasm, and a big warm bottom end sound to the Starz, with funky melodic bass lines that are impeccably tight, and he adds a second harmony to their vocal sound.Martin is also a familiar face on the Byron Music Scene and toured for some years with Jakarta and has backed many leading local artists including Gavin Hamilton, and Grace Knight. |

Derrick Armistead - drums; Lismore based drummer Derrick is a popular percussionist in musician circles because he can play a great beat at a low volume. He also has an extensive music industry record, having played in many groups, including for many years with Steve Gilpin of Mi-Sex fame in Under Wrapz. His accurate time-keeping, crisp, solid groove and superb versatility make him an invaluable member to the Starz and he adds the third harmony. |

Don Raffaelle - sax; we add Don to our line up whenever the budget allows to add a brilliant expressive sax to our sound. Don's warm understated playing and beautiful tone and phrasing really add elegance and class to the jazz and he can raunch it up in the soul, funk, rock and bluesy tracks and soar in the solos. |
